The event will take place on the 82nd anniversary of its bombing

The lehendakari, Iñigo Urkullu, will preside over next Friday the opening of the restored air-raid shelter in the Biscay town of Gernika, on the 82nd anniversary of his bombing. Commemorative events will begin the day before. Urkullu, together with the mayor of the municipality, José María Gorroño, and the director of the Institute of Memory-Gogora of the Basque Government, Aintzane Ezenarro, will participate in the opening of the restored air-raid shelter located at the Gernika workshop, which will be held on Friday , at 11.00.

This is an old bunker, in which dozens of people sought refuge that day in April 1937 in which the German Condor Legion razed the town.
